I have just been given the opportunity to display my paintings in Jacksonville, Fl at the most upscale Antique Mall/Interior Design Center in North Florida.  Needless to say, I am thrilled!  I was given a wall on the main aisle to showcase my art.  They were particularly interested in large pieces of art and I was happy to comply.  It works well for me as my small pieces are in demand here in St. Augustine since tourists prefer something that will fit into their luggage.  But for art shows larger pieces are in order.  So this new venue is a great way for me to show and sell them after the art shows!

I forgot my camera when the art was hung, so I will have to return to get the display on film for the blog.  Hopefully next week I can show it to you.

I painted another large painting the other day.  I got the bug to start painting later in the evening and ended up going to bed at 4 am!  You ever do that?  Probably most artists do that from time to time.  I was on a roll, …
Well, everything is finally finished and hung in their new home.  At least it's home for now.  When I arrived they had 2 other artists there each with their own work to hang.  The owner said for us to work out the arrangement of all the paintings amongst ourselves and then left the room.  Ok, I can do this I thought...I introduced myself and we then put our heads together and worked it out!  It went well since we all for the most part had complimentary colors in our paintings and photos.  (one person is a photographer)

Three and a half hours later all the paintings & photos were hung in a pleasing arrangement and everyone was happy.  Quite an accomplishment I feel! (artists can have big egos at times it seems) And best of all the owners were happy!!  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of it!  Oh well, I will go next week after they open and take several to post.  I was thrilled to have been able to hang all my paintings except one.  I could have hung it but I…
Whew!  I am  exhausted!  I have been painting almost non-stop for the last two weeks trying to get all the paintings done for the restaurant.  Turns out that one wall  currently has a large TV hanging.  The owner said it is being removed and they want a LARGE painting to hang there.  Well, just so happens that a friend gave me a very large canvas she no longer wanted. Actually, she gave me 3 large canvases and I used them all for this commission.  Yea!!  The biggest is 4ft by 5ft!  the perfect size for that wall.  But,  that also meant that I had to paint on that large canvas!  It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would, but it sure did use a lot of paint!  I guess I will start ordering my paints in large sizes now.  LOL!!  It costs too much otherwise! I'm not sure if I will be the only artist there or not. (They have several artists at their current location) I am to take all the paintings in next Tuesday morning. That is when I will find out I guess.  Maybe th…
